Okay now let’s chat with the owner of Watermelon Road!
BYOK: What makes Watermelon rd different then other brands
WR: Where do we begin haha 1.The biggest is obviously the seasoning. We aren’t in the game to just repack boring, bulk, dried fruit and sell it. We wanted to up the game and give your taste buds a kick with adding all natural seasoning.2. We are made in a nut free facility. I was surprised to see a lot of the dried fruit out on the shelves stating that it’s made in a facility that also produces nuts etc. So ours is safe enough to send in your kids lunch box. We are made in a nut free facility and free from the top 8 allergens3. 100% Women owned and operated. Also a Mompenuer (feel like this needs to also be a certification)4. Size- We also didn’t want to create 3lb bags of dried fruit. We take pride in our small batch and by creating our 1.5oz packs, we wanted something that was easy to throw in your gym bag, kids backpack and you don’t have to worry about over-snacking.
BYOK: Okay but what is fruit jerky?WR: Fruit Jerky is just a fun word for dehydrated fruit 🙂
WR: Mango Margarita is always a crowd favorite. People have used it from garnish in cocktails to spicing up charcuterie boards.
BYOK: What is the process to make it?WR: We make everything by hand, so starting with sourcing local produce from our farmers in Mexico, to cleaning the produce, hand peeling (except the Apple), slicing, hand seasoning with our unique blends, dehydrating 8+ hours, cooling, packed and shipped to your door. Long process, but the finished product is worth it
BYOK: What is your favorite flavorWR: Mine is the Pineapple Mojito. I have a huge sweet tooth, so it’s like eating candy, but good for you so it’s calms the craving.
