Are y’all ready for another challenge??? Oh and I mean, a CHALLENGE. I have teamed up with Caitlin Richard, of the Blonde Aesthetic, and Maggie Hayes, yogi extraordinaire, to do a Splits in September Challenge.
WHAT THE WHAT?
Basically, each day in September, you will be provided stretches to complete on your own time. Each stretch and each day will bring you closer and closer to completing your split.
Maggie is yoga instructor and incredibly limber so she will be able to guide us all with tips, tricks and proper form.
BENEFITS OF STRETCHING
There are so many benefits to stretching every day. For starters, stretching increases your blood flow and circulation which means = Healthier Body.
Brain Power. Stretching sends oxygen to your brain for a clearer mind and BETTER MOOD. This is perhaps my favorite benefit!
Increases Energy. When you let you sit all day at a desk or aren’t as mobile as you should be, your muscles tighten up. So stretching provides you a good boost of energy.“Stretching loosens your muscles and tendons which relieves muscle fatigue and increases blood flow. The longer you exercise the more energy you be burn, typically causing one to grow fatigued. With stretching, you can delay the onset of muscle fatigue by ensuring oxygen is efficiently flowing through your blood, thereby increasing your endurance.”
Aids your body in repairing sore muscles.
Reduces cholesterol. UM YOU READ THAT RIGHT. Along with a healthy diet, cholesterol levels are known to decrease when your stretch for prolonged periods of time. “This could prevent and even reverse the hardening of arteries, helping one avoid heart diseases.”
BEING ABLE TO DO A SPLIT. DUH!
