We ALL have our own, unique wellness journey. And each persons story is different from the next. Some journeys endeavor eat disorders, others involve struggling with health issues, and some, like Sarah Ordo’s include battling alcoholism.
I recently read Sarah’s book called Sober AF* and I just KNEW I wanted to do a review and get her on the blog after reading her story. Her book chronicles her road to recovery and how her alcoholism affected each and every aspect of her life.
This wellness story is so empowering whether you have been affected by alcoholism or not. Grab a pink lady apple booch and read my review followed by my interview with Sarah. The link to purchase her book is at the end of the post.

SOBER AF Book Review
Sarah is your not so typical millennial overachiever living in the suburbs of Detroit. Her resume is a mile long as she is a makeup artist, entrepreneur, Youtuber, Blogger, Self-published author, and dog mom. She runs her own business 24Luxe Hair & Makeup, which is an award winning on-location beauty team for weddings and events and also does a lot of social media beauty & lifestyle videos on her Youtube channel.
Her first book, Sober AF* is a memoir about her road to recovery and the difficulties of getting sober. She starts the book off by describing a near-death experience that leaves her in a hospital. From then on, she decides to become sober, cold turkey. She leaves nothing to the imagination as she details all the difficulties she faced during the first two years getting sober. This includes her anxiety, depression, rebuilding of familial relationships, dating while sober and even her spiritual journey thereafter.
Sarah is brutally honest and I think that is what makes the book Sober AF* both relateable and respectable. Sarah doesn’t sugar coat the process. She is the real deal. I highly recommend this easy read if you are looking for a good nonfiction or memoir read!
