Hi friends! I’m back to posting once a week on the regular. I was feeling like filling your inbox 2-3 times a week was a bit much plus being pregnant, it was also a bit much for me to keep up with.
Pregnancy has been quite the journey so far. And while I am so immensely grateful for a happy baby + mine + bryan’s hearts are feeling SO FULL right now, first trimester was no joke. I was SO nauseas + had so many migraines. I’m hoping the worst is behind me. FINGERS CROSSED.
Because of my unpredictable nausea spells, I ended up quitting Pure Barre. I also had to ditch hot yoga (still sad about this) because the excessive heat is not good for the growing fetus. I had to find other ways to work out.
My philosophy regarding exercise during pregnancy is this:
- Something is better than nothing.
- Work out when you feel well, rest if you don’t feel well. I’m not about to push myself when I have a little on growing inside of me.
Because of this, I’ve been doing ALL my workouts at home which I have grown to love!
Sarah Beth Prenatal Yoga has been my go-to yoga routine. Her routines vary from 10-45 minutes which I LOVE because I just fit in whatever I can depending on the day. I usually do prenatal yoga 2-3 days a week.
Summer Body by Bailey has been another favorite of mine. I love her get a peach booty workout. Literally I fit in this workout atleast 2 a week. You 100% see a difference! Even my husband thinks so!
Saje Cox Fitness Challenges have been my SAVING GRACE. Literally has changed my point of view about working out at home. WHY? Let me break it down for you.
SAJE COX FITNESS CHALLENGES
In a nutshell, Saje runs fitness challenges from the 1st of the month to the end of the month. For $20, you get 5 workouts a week (Wednesday + Sundays are rest days). It’s a 30 minute work out because Saje does not believe you should be working out for an hour – her workouts are designed to encompass a full body workout in 30 minutes or less.
How does it work? Basically, you watch Saje via youtube video that she posts in the secret facebook group. In the video she performs the said exercises which range from various weights to cardio. ALL ARE DOABLE WORKOUTS FOR NEWBIES. I am not a gym rate and I hate lifting weights but the exercises are so quick, easy and include light weights – so its manageable for me.
Have an injury? Saje will give you an alternative exercise for free.
Not sure if you have proper form of that plank? Send her a photo and she will correct your form for free.
Saje is LITERALLY your own personal trainer at home. And she has an awesome online facebook (private of course) group where 200+ support each other each month and you can even find an accountability partner in the group to keep you motivated.
Associated with each monthly challenge is a contest to see who lost the most weight but I personally did not enter (it’s totally optional) since I’m not focused on weight loss with the bun in the oven.
ANDDDDDDD if you want to listen to her podcast episode where she chats about her parents owning a gym + growing up in the fitness community, you can listen in here.
If you have any questions about it, feel free to reach out to me or Saje! Hope you found this resourceful and happy Wednesday friends!
I do want to mention, because I am all about disclosure, she did provide entry into the challenge free of charge this month as a blogger perk to check it out. ALL of these opinions are my own and I will 100% be continuing Saje’s challenges thereafter.
