Did you know that #GivingTuesday originated in 2012 and was first initiated by the United Nations as a way to celebrate generosity? I love the concept and that’s why I wanted to share with y’all my friend Jessica’s company, The Promise Brand.
It’s more than just a sweatshirt, I PROMISE. It’s a faith based brand giving 100% of its profits to charity. It’s truly amazing. Grab a kombucha and read my interview with Jessica below.
What is the Promise Brand?
Jessica: Inspiring, invoking, and encouraging Faith based apparel that creates community and positive conversation.
What inspired the name?
Jessica: The Promise “Land”, is from one of the most well known Biblical stories. In Egypt, the Israelites who were held captive, were finally led into The Promise Land after a 40 year long exhausting journey, suffering many trials and hardships. We all have an “Egypt”. We all have had, or are going through, something in our life that seems inescapable or insurmountable. But, we all have a Promise Land too. The Israelites who survived the journey and many trials, made it into the promised place that would be, “flowing with milk and honey”. (Aka: Peace and Prosperity.) And so will we. This is how The Promise Brand™️ was born during the hardest year of my life. I faced many trials, loss, health concerns, and feelings of despair. The only thing that brought me through was my Faith in God and His promises.
Who benefits and what program does it serve?
Jessica: When God put it on my heart to create a statement of Faith apparel brand, He made it clear that this brand is not about me, but is intended to give back the same Grace that I received during my hardships. The Promise Brand™️ is 100% a GiveBackBrand and all proceeds are donated to Convoy of Hope’s, “Feed One” program. This program feeds children in underdeveloped countries (126 to be exact!). What do you see for the future of your brand?
Jessica: Vast amounts of inspiring and encouraging statements worn by men, women, and children. The power of words fueling Faith and triggering positive, elevated conversation! People believing in The Promise… and being one too. (maybe some jewelry, journals, and trinkets too )
