Shopping for makeup is my vice. I JUST LOVE IT.
And if you didn’t know, now you know – BEAUTY COUNTER is having a HUGE sitewide 20% sale (you can shop using my link HERE).
HOWEVER
Despite wanting to transition to a 100% nontoxic lifestyle, I always feel a bit guilty tossing away gently used or unused makeup. So I actually found an organization called PROJECT BEAUTY SHARE that collects beauty items and in return provides them to women and families overcoming abuse, addiction, homelessness and poverty.
The list of items needed includes:
- New and barely used makeup- see guidelines here
- Clean Makeup Bags
- Facial Cleansers & Moisturizers- must be in pump containers or tubes.
- Body Lotion & Sunscreen- More than half full please. Must be in pump containers or tubes. NO tub like containers such as body butters that have been used.
- Bar Soap & Shower Gels*
- Toothpaste & Toothbrushes*
- Deodorant*
- Feminine Hygiene Products- #1 requested item from shelters
- Clean or New Makeup Brushes
- Shampoo & Conditioner
(more than half full) - Combs & Brushes*
- Hair Styling Products
- Hair Styling Tools
- Perfume/Fragrances (new or slightly used)
- New Nail Polishes*
- Nail Files*
- Body Sprays
You can mail your packages to: Project Beauty Share (509)455-3537 or mail your goodies to 2718 E. Sprague, Spokane, WA 99202.
