Q & A with Jordan Younger aka The Balanced Blonde
Your a yogi extraordinaire and a successful author and blogger, what made you expand your brand and jump into podcasting?
I got into podcasting because I wanted a way to connect deeper with my audience, and to feel like we were actually HANGING OUT instead of just writing and connecting on social media. My goal was to bring people content that they love, modernize the wellness & fitness conversation and make it more fun, and form a deeper connection with my listeners / readers.
Between being teaching yoga, writing books, weekly podcasts and being an entrepreneur, how do you juggle it all?
For me, having my hands in a lot of pots actually makes me feel more productive and balanced. As an entrepreneur, it’s safer to have multiple revenue streams and lots of related things to focus on! My advice is to pursue a career in something that you love SO much you can’t imagine getting sick of it… because at the end of the day, when the shiny newness wears off, work is still work. So you want to love what you’re doing so that even working your butt off still feels fun and doable to you.
I am feeling the urge to write my own book, and since you have TWO mega successful books, what advice do you have?
Make sure you love the subject you’re writing about because there will be days when the writing process seems incredibly difficult and you feel burnt out, have writers’ block, etc. On that same note, don’t force creativity when it’s not there. Take a walk, run some errands, meditate, exercise… then hop back into it! You don’t have to have the creative juices flowing at ALL times to create something awesome. Also, finishing something imperfect is better than slaving away for your whole life to never finish something but make it perfect. Not the most eloquent of words but an important sentiment!
We all love the TBB brand, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years/near future?
Writing more books, leading yoga and spirituality retreats all over the world, madly in love with the same human that I am now, living on the beach, and being surrounded by beautiful crystals and the ocean and amazing friends and family. Boom!
You ask everyone who comes on your podcast this question, but what sets YOUR soul on fire?
Connecting with people who I love deeply, and having heart to heart conversations that transcend this universe. Very cool because that can even be done through a podcast!
