It’s the week after Christmas and it’s time to detox from sugar, sort through old and new toys, and time to CLEAN THE HOUSE, because it’s obviously been seeing a lot of guests and neglected while you’ve been enjoying the holidays.
But this post is a little different than the rest. I do love my blueland (eco + nontoxic) cleaning supplies along with young living thieves and my truly. But one of my other secret weapons when it comes to cleaning is white vinegar.
Vinegar is inexpensive and effective when it comes to cleaning. I do want to note that it works REALLY well on most surfaces EXCEPT natural stone, waxed wood, cast iron or aluminum. All you have to do is create a 1:1 ratio of water and white vinegar.
Now what exactly do I use white vinegar for? Here are my top 3 (monthly-is) uses.
1. Coffee Maker
All you have to do is create a one part water to one part vinegar ratio to pour into the water chamber of the coffee maker. Run the coffee maker. Then run again 3 three times with filtered water. Super easy!
2. Washing Machine
Another easy one is using white vinegar for the washer machine. Pour two cups vinegar into the washer and let the cycle run on HOT. Optional: repeat the cycle with a half cup of baking soda. Wipe down after with a cloth. Finito!
3. Dishwasher
Add a cup of white vinegar into a glass container and place it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Turn the dishwasher on the hottest setting and run it. (After you clean leave the dishwasher door open for a bit to air it out).
