I’m an over packer in general. So our labor and delivery trip to the hospital was no different. Whoops! But here is all the health and wellness items I actually needed and used while at the hospital.
This is EVERYTHING I packed in my hospital bag!
1. Barre socks: You can wear these in lieu of the hospitals oversized and itchy socks that are required. It is meant to prevent you from falling based on the traction on the sock but these barre socks are comfy and reuseable!
2. These HIDEOUS granny panties because ya… just had a baby come out of me.
3. Primally pure NONTOXIC charcoal deodorant (save 10% when you use the code KOMBUCHA!)
4. Cocosmile NONTOXIC toothpaste
5. Liquid IV + tons of coconut water to stay hydrated. Water gets boring y’all.
6. Flip flops: ya know to use in the hospital shower and honestly I just tossed these afterwards. I’m a huge germaphobe!
7. Yum Earth hard candies: Depending in your hospital or birth center, you may be allowed to suck on hard candies during labor which provides some sugar which is much needed. I love these organic ones.
8. Earth Mama Perineal Spray: After you push the little babe out, you’ll need this Postpartum Cooling Spray which is soothing to ease discomfort of postpartum vaginal soreness, swelling, episiotomies and hemorrhoids
9. Motherlove Nipple cream: If you are breastfeeding you will definitely want to start using this on your nipples ASAP!
10. Milkful bars: These bad boys are meant to boost your milk flow and honestly I’ve seen a difference since using them. And it helps that they are really tasty!
11. Renegade Mama Labor Affirmation cards: As corny as it sounds, these affirmation cards were actually extremely helpful. With each contraction, I would breath in, say an affirmation to myself and breath out.
12. Diapers: believe it or not, you’ll need these. Thank me later!
What did you include in your hospital bag?!
